all bryce and photoshop for editing .. im proud of the "skeletal" look of it all and the sword is one of my previous creations .. ^^ look in scraps for it
One trick I learned on how to get the effect of a sword with a shiny sharp edge is to make a copy of the blade.
Resize it so its just a little bit bigger than the original blade. It needs to be a bit bigger than the original blade but only enough that you can see it. Give this blade a shinier material or increase the ambience so it looks shinier. When you are done, you have a sword that has a shiny sharp edge. This method will work for other edged weapons too. Also it would make it easier to add special effects to the sword too.
explain this a bit further.. i dont know what you mean .. only make the edge a bit longer and make it shinier..? i once made a sword with diamond edge this way.. if i wanted to make a really realistic sword i would have used 3dsmax anyway .. but i aprecciate the comment and help the sword was just a bit extra to the robot
This is for Bryce, all bets are off in other 3d apps.
1. Take the sword blade, just the blade part.
2. Make a copy.
3. make the copy a little wider and longer so it sticks out a little bit. Just a little bit.
4. give the blade a metallic texture.
5. give the copy a shinier texture.
Now you have a blade with a shiney edge.
Might be able to make some interesting blades using terrains and a greyscale picture for Bryce, not tried it myself.

Do you have a picture of the diamond blade?
